Stuart

Stuart Marshall
Stuart became interested in drums from an early age and after trying classical guitar and various brass instruments, he eventually got his first drum kit as a teenager.

After spending a few early playing years with various function bands, he was introduced to the Blues by legendary Salisbury guitarist Peter Catlin. This led to some great opportunities, subsequently playing with many different musical artists and bands, such as Ken Lailey’s Blues Cruise; The Pete Harris Blues Band; The Harry Skinner Blues Band, Bill Boazman’s – Sonny Black, The Arnie Cottrell Band and The Bob Pearce Blues Band.

He has also shared the stage with Bill Wyman (Rolling Stones), Andy Fairweather Low (Amen Corner / Eric Clapton) and Gary Brooker (Procol Harum).

For many years, Stuart was also a member of the successful Southampton covers band ‘Joker’ and Salisbury’s Astral Plane. To this day, he continues to play an eclectic mix of music with friends in the bands such as ‘Sunflower’, ‘Hot Water’ and ‘Stranded’ He was also part of the ‘Amey-Gair-Mason’ reunion and Tich Amey’s off-shoot band ‘Itch’. With a lean towards the country side, Stuart has played in the Peter Mason Band. Throughout this he maintained his links with Blues, by picking up gigs with Ray Nash’s Bluescasters, The Bruce Roberts Band and Hugh Budden.

In more recent times Stuart has played with Southbound – Celebrating the music of Thin Lizzy, The Leonardo Giuliano Band and The Groove Bakers.
